Decisions on sound, lighting Etc

This right here is something I failed to realize. Some questions to ask would be, what sounds would my film use?, would they be diegetic or non- diegetic sounds?, would there be narration?, these are some questions that come to mind when thinking about sound. If you ever watched a teen movies made in the early 2000s, you can see how almost all of them have narration. Narration helps give background information to the audience. For example if the characters engage  conflict, the narration can give you knowledge on why this is happening or how did it start. Music can also help with the film as well. If you are doing a horror film you would use a low pitched sound, causing a eerie feel amongst the audience and setting the mood to how you want it to be. In our case we would put music that brightens up the mood, such as pop music to show how high school (in movies) really are. If we play some low music leading to silence, this foreshadows that something may happen just about now, or maybe

Production/filming schedule

In order to be ready for production, you must have a schedule. This schedule will contain what day you will be filming a certain scene, what scene it is, and the projected time when it starts and when it finishes. This schedule will help keep everything organized so when film day comes, everything will be smooth and not take a extremely long time. This schedule should not take a extremely long time to do. However, in my group someone was assigned to do it and is not answering so it might take a little bit more time. A tip that would be very helpful in your group would to make sure you can contact your team members at all times. In times where on group member may not be able to do some, you must be able to contact them to help fix this issue. This film schedule plays a main role with production alongside casting. Every single movie that you have seen, the producers made a film schedule. This keeps them organized and can guarantee that they will finish their film in the projected time t

Casting consideration and choices

Casting can be a very difficult thing to do. You must be able to find people who will take their duty seriously and have some acting skills, Although we have not have started to cast, I have some ideas that I will present to my group this week. I have a few people in mind who will be a perfect fit for this task. Group member Kayla will actually be a actor in this film opening while the others will be editing and filming. Casting this week will actually be a great choice since we start production on the 22nd of February. If we can gather up a cast by Wednesday or Thursday, actors will be given time to memorize and act out their lines. The actors we choose must be good at memorizing since they have a short time to memorize their lines. So on film day we have a smooth transition and an easy production process. There is a couple of things we need to acknowledge before we start to cast. Things such as how should we do this casting process, where should the casting take place, how we would

Location and scouting process

This process was rather easy since the genre of our film is based of high school students. What's amusing is when we first started this project, we started crafting ideas in a library and sure enough one of our scenes is in the library. We were confused whether we should do scenes outside the school to give a tad bit more background information on the main character the group they are in. But we ended up coming with the conclusion that we could not do this scene and here is why, Noting that we only have 2 minutes to do the opening and include the opening sequence, we would be pressed for time and would not be able to put everything we need to put. A major issue that we have based off our location is when we would be able to film. Since our location is in a school and some people have extracurricular activities that they need to do. By creating a schedule, we can be organized and have everything needed in the set time that we need to do this by. Although we did get one of the locat

Storyboard

This was easily the most easy but difficult assignment that we have had. Since one of our group members left our group, there was a little bit of conflict during the time we had the assignment. With Kayla and my great thinking plus Adonai's creativity, we created a master piece. I gave the format and specifically what we were going to do, and Adonai successfully carried out that plan. This was difficult since we started so late, but we still got it done. This is what we have came up with

Final script

Good morning to everyone who is reading this. I feel like a weight that has been on my chest for so long has finally disappeared after finish up this script! With the help of my teammates this has been made possible. Script writing is no joke, it takes a lot of time and research to accomplish. You must research the 6 main elements of a script. These can be the scene heading, action, character name,, dialogue, and transition. All of these elements can help greatly with your script. The scene heading tells you the location, whether its inside or outside (INT or EXT) and if it is day or night. The action describes everything that is seen or heard. Parentheticals provide instruction for the dialogue, while dialogue would be the conversation the characters are having. Then the last part is transitions such as fade in and fade out. Now you know the 6 main elements of a script. I researched by using the links provided by my teacher. These links included script examples, how to write a script,

Case study

This case study was a rough and vigorous task since it was very hard to retain information. The 5 parts of the case study (History/target audience, production, distribution,  marketing, cross media convergence and synergy) all of these parts make up a case study. How did I do this? Well first you get the film of your choice that relates to the genre you are doing, I chose the classic film "Mean girls" After that you start dong research on all 5 of those topics. You may be able to find a couple blogs relating on how to do and find these very few parts. But make sure your websites are credential and legit. You do not want to be using websites such as Wikipedia to gain information. This websites information can be altered by anyone who chooses to do so. Once I retained all the information from my research, I started to form my case study. You can either do a power point, word document, or a video. I chose to do a PowerPoint since it is easier to divide those 5 topics. Then you

Film pitch

This film pitch I made was fun and very helpful. When you want to pitch your movie idea to a production company, these questions can help  you succeed in you doing that.  Answer the following questions and others, as applicable: ·          What production company are you pitching to? Establish this first so that we know what perspective to consider your film from. ·          What is the title of your film? ·          What is the basic synopsis of your film? (Keep this short – 60 seconds or less.) ·          Why do you think this production company would be a good fit to make your film? o    What films has the company made that are similar to yours? o    Does the “brand” of your film align with some of the other films this company has made? o    Can this company secure the resources necessary to make your film? (I.e. a small production company would not be able to make the next Jurassic Park.) ·          Approximately what kind of budget will your film require? Provide
